Seattle Insight Meditation Society is hosting two upcoming fundraising events that will support the establishment of a permanent meditation hall and other facilities. These events are opportunities to engage with the Dharma and to support a local meditation center.
Sharon Salzberg will present an online talk about meditation on Saturday, August 28 from 5:00-6:30. She is a world-renowned loving kindness meditation teacher, and New York Times bestselling author, one of the first to bring meditation and mindfulness into mainstream American culture over 45 years ago. Ofosu Jones-Quartey is hosting an online event of Rap, Sound Bath Music, Dharma, & Conversation on September 24, from 5:00-7:00. Ofosu has over 20 years of practice within the Burmese style of vipassana. He lives in Washington D.C. where he has led the Insight Meditation Center Washington (IMCW), Family Meditation class for over 17 years.
