Tim Geil, guiding meditation teacher with Seattle Insight Meditation Society, will visit our meditation group for a couple of online events this week. The title for the visit is “Recognizing and Living the Four Noble Truths.” He will focus on the role of stress and suffering in our lives, how to recognize them and work with them in daily life.
On Friday evening, September 24th, Tim will lead a meditation and give a Dharma talk with time for discussion. The topic for the talk on Friday evening will be the same as the topic for the retreat on Saturday. The Friday evening event will be online using Zoom, from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm. No registration is needed for the Friday evening talk and meditation and there is no fee to attend.
The Zoom link for the retreat will be provided upon registration and the Zoom link for the Friday talk be available on our Events Calendar the day before the event.
Participants in the Friday evening talk or the retreat are encouraged to support Tim’s work by providing a donation online using the following link: Tim Geil on Paypal.
There is still room in the online retreat that Tim will offer on Saturday, September 25, from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm. To register for the retreat, please send an email request to me at IMMC.
Fee for the retreat is $10. The fee will be waived for those who can’t afford it. Please use our online donation form at Donorbox to pay the fee, and leave a comment indicating that the donation is for the retreat on September 25. Those who attend the retreat can use the link given above to make a donation to Tim. Those who are registered for the retreat will receive an email a day or two before the retreat with the Zoom link for the retreat.
Please let me know if you have any questions about either event. I hope that all of you are doing well, especially those I haven’t seen in a while.
Warm regards,
Chris
