Weekly Meditation Sessions
We have three online meditations a week, on Wednesday morning, Thursday evening, and Saturday morning. You’re welcome to join us for any of the 3 meetings each week. The meditation sessions are offered online via Zoom. See the Calendar for the Zoom links to the sessions.
In addition to our regular online meditations, we are now meeting for in-person meditation sessions every Wednesday and Saturday Morning. Please see the Events Calendar for specific details on the in-person meditation sessions.
During the Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday online meetings, we “sit together” for meditation for half an hour. Meditations include guided meditations, meditations with some initial guidance and instruction, and silent meditations.
- The Wednesday morning meditation starts at 9:30 am, with half an hour of meditation, followed by half an hour of sharing.
- On Thursday evenings there is a talk or discussion and sharing following meditation. Meditation is from 7:00 until 7:30 pm, with the talk and discussion ending at about 8:30 pm.
- The Saturday morning meditation starts at 8:00 am, with half an hour of meditation followed by half an hour of sharing.
Beginning Meditation Classes
We offer five-part beginning meditation classes several times a year. The classes will be offered on Sunday afternoons from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm. The classes are offered in person and sometimes online via Zoom.
The classes focus on meditation approaches for the development of mindfulness and reduction of stress. The classes will introduce metta (lovingkindness) and compassion meditations and a mindfulness meditation approach for difficult emotions and thoughts known as RAIN. The classes are open to anyone who is interested in meditation and are secular in nature. There is no charge for the classes; donations will be accepted. Please see the Calendar to see the next scheduled set of meditation classes.
Daylong Meditation Retreats
Several times a year we hold daylong meditation retreats, typically from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm. Most of the retreats have visiting teachers and include instruction as well as time for seated, walking, and movement meditations. See the Calendar for meditation retreats scheduled for 2023. Currently, retreats will take place in-person, and the retreats are scheduled at venues in the Mid-Columbia region.
