Daylong Meditation Retreat With Dori Langevin Canceled
May 13, 2023
Sorry, but the Retreat has been canceled!
IMMC will be hosting Dori Langevin for a daylong meditation retreat on May 13, 2023, to be held at Shalom UCC in Richland, WA.
The topic for the retreat is "Seeing the Goodness: The Wellspring of Unconditional Friendliness."
Here's a more complete description from Dori of the theme for the retreat and Friday evening talk:
Please join us for a day of illuminating our “heart-eyes” which are naturally capable of seeing the intrinsic goodness ~ the gold ~ in ourselves, in each other and yes, even in the world. This aspect of Wise Effort takes courage and sometimes a different pair of glasses because we may be more oriented toward seeing what is wrong and what is missing.
Wake up wholesome mind states when they are not arising in the mind, and
Keep wholesome mind states alive in the mind once they've already arisen.
Together we will “play” with practices and reflections that both reveal the obstacles and the pathways to seeing the good, true and beautiful within and around us.
Dori will also give a talk and lead a meditation on Friday, May 12, from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm PT with the same topic. That event will also be held at Shalom in the Fellowship Hall. There is no fee for the Friday evening event, and registration will not be required for it.
To register for the retreat, please send an email to Tim Barbour.
Fee for the retreat will be $10. Please use our online donation form to pay the retreat fee and leave a comment indicating that the donation is for the retreat on May 13. The fee will be waived for those who can't afford it, please send an email to Tim Barbour if that's an issue for you. Those who are registered for the retreat will receive an email the week of the retreat with additional information.
