September 26, 2021(1 event) 1:30 pm: Beginning Meditation Class: Meditation and the Body – Beginning Meditation Class: Meditation and the Body Our Beginning Meditation classes are presented in a four-part series. The classes are intended to work together to provide an introduction to meditation or serve as a useful "touchstone" for more experienced practitioners. You are welcome to attend any or all of the classes. Each class can be a stand alone class, and will focus on a different topic. All classes will be from 1:30- 3:30. This second class will focus on mindfulness of the body. It will introduce a mindfulness meditation known as the body scan, and the practice of walking meditation. The classes are intended to work together to provide an introduction to meditation or serve as a useful "touchstone" for more experienced practitioners. You are welcome to attend any or all of the classes. Each class can be a stand alone class, and will focus on a different topic. All classes will be from 1:30- 3:30. This third class will provide ideas and meditation techniques for working with thoughts and emotions in meditation, including a mindfulness meditation approach for difficult emotions and thoughts known as RAIN. November 6, 2021(1 event) 9:00 am: One-Day Meditation Retreat with Debra Seido Martin – Registration is now open for a day-long Zen meditation retreat with Debra Seido Martin on Saturday, November 6th from 9:00 - 3:30 pm. The title is "We Are Still Here." It will be virtual and the cost is $10. This retreat will be hosted by the Walla Walla Dharma Sangha. To register, contact Janaki Howard at [email protected]. Seido Martin is the guiding teacher of Empty Field Zen, Eugene, Oregon Zen West-Empty Field. She is a Zen teacher, practicing psychotherapist, and organic farmer. Seido has led retreats in our area several times and is a caring, clear and insightful teacher. In addition to meditation, there will be breakout sessions and a dharma talk.
