7:30 pm: Talk and Meditation with Suere Sala

May 27, 2022

Please join us Friday evening as we welcome Meditation Teacher Suere Sala for a meditation and talk on "Appreciating the Liberating Gift of Anger".

Description: Anger often gets a bad rap in Dhamma communities, but anger is a normal and natural part of being human. We often blame anger rather than investigate the challenging nature of the moment. When we investigate it, however, we can see that anger can show up as a necessary aspect of being part of the human race. At the same time, anger can mask deeper avoidance of greed, hatred, and delusion. During this weekend retreat, we will explore these two distinctions of anger and navigate toward cultivating the wisdom and gift of healthy anger and abandoning unhealthy anger.

Tuere is one of the guiding teachers of Seattle Insight Meditation Society and a graduate of the Insight Meditation Society Teacher Training Program. Tuere recently joined the Spirit Rock Retreat Center governance team, where she serves as a member of the Guiding Teacher Council and Board of Directors. She regularly teaches at Spirit Rock, Cloud Mountain, Insight Meditation Society (IMS) and urban sanghas throughout the country.

Participants are encouraged to support Tuere's work by providing a donation online using PayPal, see
tueresala.org, or for Venmo please use @Tuere-Sala.

The event will be online using Zoom, from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm. No registration will be needed for the Friday evening talk and meditation and there will be no fee to attend.
